Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam: A Personal Selection From the Five Editions of Edward FitzGerald by Cecile E. Mactaggart

This one vexes me, hence it is in the ‘other media’ section of the website (for now anyway). It doesn’t feel quite like a typical edition and the composition and layout is…very frustrating for a cataloger such as myself, so that was part of it too. So. Here we are, with this abbreviated entry.

What is this edition: it is a custom ‘riff’ on the five editions of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam by FitzGerald by Cecile E. Mactaggart, with art from Dulac and Pogany. Calligraphy is by Margery O. Erickson. It also has a lot of quotes/intro pages which I haven’t, except for one quote, included in this entry. It also has a ‘afterword’ section from the editor for lack of a better term, with basically…the story of the journey? It is dated 1975.

It is on Goodreads, apparently. ISBN is 0-9699121-1-0. It says 1991 for year, but who knows.

Update two days after posting: This is part of a greater collection from Barbara Campbell that I purchased a portion of.
